oil pan rails
Doing an engine swap 305 to 350
My question is the 305 used the oil pan rails, and the 350 I have doesn't have them , did they or do they make the rails for a 350? if so where would I get them? I would use the ones from the 305 but the dip stick is on opposite sides.
Thanks.

They started using them later. Helps control leaks, but I don't know that I've seen the rails for driver's side dipstick blocks.

Re: oil pan rails
They do... GM sells them, or at least, did at one time. They called them "stiffeners". I have a set in fact, so I'm quite sure they exist.
No unfortunately I no longer have the part #, way too much water has gone under the bridge for that. I can tell you though, I used them on a 360450 pan on a 400.
