Rocker Arms??

Rocker Arms??

So im thinking about switching out my rocker arms to a 1.6? but i have no idea how hard they are to switch. me being new to domestics i have never switched rocker arms out before. also does anyone have an idea of what brand tends to be better for this?

its not to hard to do you just need the pre load set right. make sure your motor dont have a worn timing chain.. as for rockers run a name bran comp cams crane...

dang i feel dumb now.... whats preload and how do you set it?? as for the timing chain its new, whole engines a rebuild from an 88gm

Get yourself a book on chevys.
Preload = lash. You set your valve lash. Look up EOIC on this forum for the lowdown on how to do it.
It's an easy mod

Almost...

Lash is not the same as preload. Lash is a term used on solid cams which
requires a certain amount of distance between the assembly.

Pre-load is the opposite where the lifter needs to have all of the "lash" taken
up, as well as a preset amount of spring load for correct operation.
