AFR 195 heads + EGR?

Plans have been to port some L98 heads with a mild cam for my daily driven 350. I'm thinking of just cutting the crap and getting some AFR 195 (or maybe 180 actually). I really want to be consistently running with the LS1/2 crowd as well as the high end r1c3 crowd like Evo/STi. The AFRs come with a CARB number so I can legitimately run them in CA without worrying about "covering my tracks" all the time. Will I be able to run EGR as normal with these heads?

Main Concern: I don't want to just squeek through the sniffer test, I want to have numbers so low I leave the tech scratching his head. I can tune.

Yes, they are set up with the EGR port. Make sure you get the heads on the proper side.

Re: AFR 195 heads + EGR?

If you use heads w/o the EGR provisions, you can always use the external EGR setup that the TPI Corvettes used (I'm assuming you are keeping TPI?). If you are keeping the TPI setup, the 180cc heads are probably a better choice over the 195s. They would match the characteristics of the TPI system better.

This is actually going under TBI. And yeah, it's definitely going to be 180s. 195 won't be necessary. All I need to figure out is what 50-state legal intake manifold to use.
