Arp rod bolt, Help please!
Arp rod bolt, Help please!
I'm in the process of building a 383 stroker, I have 6.00 rods already setup up for arp bolts, I was told that was okay, to tighten them down to 45Ibs like stock will be okay, but when i do that. The engine will not turn over at all, but when untight, turns over like a champ. Any help would be well aprecciate

Measure the diameter of a rod journal, and th einner diameter of a bearing when installed in a rod and torqued mostly down.
Sounds to me like your bearing size and rod size don't match. Or, you have caps mixed up, or, you have rods in backwards somewhere. You can check for the last by checking the rod side clearance, and by making sure the rods can slide freely from side to side on the crank. All the bearing tangs should be on the side of the rod that faces away from the cam.
Has nothing to do with 6.00", ARP, or 45 ft-lbs.
See this thread right here for help. This happens all the time when people either get the wrong parts, or put something together wrong.

{edit} Looks like the BBS is fornicated again with respect to links back to itself.... go back to the "Tech/General Engine" forum, which is this one that you posted in, and look down the page for a post titled "Crank Won't Turn".
