white smoke?

i was driving a girl home from dinner when my car began to smoke white. and lots of it. the engine didn't preform very well. could it be head gasket ? any ideas? thanks

could be quite a few things.. but first thing check your radiator.. i bet its close to empty or is empty. 2nd check your oil. water will show up in the oil. green tint to the oil = bad...

could be an intake /head gasket or even a cracked head.

Check that stuff and then pull out a compression tester and go to town. The poor performance part is what's leading me to believe that it's more than likely a head gasket.

Isn't it great when car problem stories start like this? "hey baby, why don't we go.... aww crap!! I swear, this has never happened before!" hhaha. Kinda kills the mood.

Yea, i'd be inclined to think head gasket. If your oil looks like chocolate milk, that's a dead giveaway. And/or the coolant has oil in it.

Could have cracked the head or something, but lets stick with what's more likely. Head gaskets don't usually just "go" though. Any work done recently?

ya i think i need a new head gsket. the oils in with the coolant and the coolants in the oil. the rads half full. it was to dark for me to check the other night. and yes i have extremely bad luck with my p.o.s car when im with the ladies. i think i'm going to go all the way and rebuild the engine. hope its not a crack...
