you may have blown a brake cylinder in the rear. pull the drums off both sides in the rear and check for heavy concentrations of brake fluid.

....or he could of blown his brake booster causing him to have no pressure. But yes a blown line could also be another factor. I'd start by tearing apart your front brake calipers..

if he blew a brake booster he would have a really hard brake pedal, just think what hapened when you block off the vacuum line for the booster.the pedal becomes hard.........if the booster is not holding vacuum the pedal will get harder. it is possible he blew a brake line or a brake hose.

when I blew my booster the pedal went down further than it did previously....pump your brakes up with the car off if it gets rock hard and doesnt go to the floor its prob your booster...if you find fluid on the ground ...well...

Re: did a burn out now i have no brakes
Even if the brake booster fails, you still have brakes. A brake booster is just that a vacuum booster that assist in braking effort. Why would you start by tearing the front calipers apart? If it was a faulty caliper, the piston would probably be out of the bore and holding the rotor, from when he was doing a burnout.
Re: did a burn out now i have no brakes
Thats not even close. If you pump up the booster with the car off, the pedal should get hard and not go to the floor. it in fact should not go down until the car is started, and vacuum is applied to the diaphragm inside of it. I think the speculation is a moot point because the OP said that he was losing brake fluid and the light came on. This means that the pressure differentail switch has turned on the light due to a lack of hydrolic pressure in one of the circuits. FInd your leak, and you found your brake light problem.

well I blew a brake line. its pooring out from the back next to the rear shocks. I think they make this puddy clay that you can plug the line. i saw it somewhere. but i will need a new line.

Putty clay? No way!! You definately need to replace your line, don't even mess around with a bandaid fix for your brakes!

Re: did a burn out now i have no brakes
Brake lines endure 1800 - 2000 psi every time you push the brakes and around 2200 - 2500 psi in a panic stop, i wouldnt trust my car and my life to puddy when brake line is so cheap to buy. F.Y.I dont get any brake fluid on your paint, it will eat through the paint in about 30 mins.

I wouldnt try a putty though, thats crazy. I know a lot of guys that use compression fittings, thats nearly suicide.
Re: did a burn out now i have no brakes
Thats what I mean, in automotive school (I went there too, thats partly how I became the friendly neighborhood ASE master tech) they taught us that too. I can tell you though, from doing balance tests on brake systems with pressure gauges installed where the bleeders go, they dont usually get that high. In a panic stop it is certainly possible though. The highest pressure is what is exerted on the piston(s) in the caliper or wheel cylinder.

Get a line lock.. if you're gonna do a burnout, do it the right way.. plus, line locks are great for hills..
