Ah. I didn't see the swirl ramp. I just figured a bit of die grinder work would get rid of that NASTY pushrod pinch.

It'll be a pretty mild cam in that engine. Dynamic CR will be fairly high. With aluminum heads you're right at the max i'd say.

Re: no wonder it ran 15's

what cam would be good to drop the dcr and not be to big of a tuning issue

That's not how you fix too much CR. There's no way to "win" there.

With AL heads, port injection, and good quench (right?) you should be ok. Just make sure you have a decent stall speed, and don't lug it around in overdrive at low speed. Keep an eye on how you program in your tune, ie not too much timing at low RPM high load, good fueling curve, etc.

If you intend on running nitrous i'd step up gently to that 150HP shot. Perhaps use race fuel for the nitrous usage.

HOLY CRAP!!!
If they weren't all the way in Texas, I'd bring my sledge-hammer over and personally pound them into bits for you.
Pictures like that make us that have ported heads just shudder...
(it's a shame they don't fit mustangs, or I would suggest selling them)
Please tell me you didn't have the 383 trying to suck thru them ...the horror.
