No low end power
I have a 350 with a t5 in an 84 camaro. It has en edelbrock 750cfm carb on it, dual striaght pipe, high rpm edelbrock intake manifold, open air intake, the rest is pretty much stock. The car is fast, but it cant take off the line for some reason, my power at lower rpms sucks. I also have a 305 and it takes off like a bat out of hell, so why is my 350 not quicker from a stop? Thank you for your help

Re: No low end power
hmm have you checked the fuel filter ? My 305 after a few months will be really slugish , change that filter and it helps a ton. Btw any codes ? how old are u plugs/spark plugs ? New oil ? lots of things can affect the power, its just the process of eliminating them :/

Re: No low end power
what size gear do you have in the rear
sometimes when you put huge pipes on the exaust you loose low end torque

Timing perhaps?
A while back I set the timing on my 305, to 0* as the sticker under the hood suggested. ( I had read about the 6* on here beforehand, but figured I'd try the stock setting first ) Man it felt like it was just...dry, hard to explain, but it just had no torque. Moved it up to 6* and could really feel the difference.

Although something in there looks like it could possibly maybe be a clue, but I'm not sure what."Stock" is about a useless word for describing a motor that's not stock in the first place (a 350 in a car that didn't come with it). What EXACTLY is this 350? Specifically, what pistons are in in it, what machine work has been done to it, what heads are on it, and what cam is in it? Part #s and casting #s ONLY please; not "stock", not "from a Vette", not "iron", not "mild", etc.
Then, what's the rest of the car? What gears, particularly? Again, NUMBERS and/or part numbers; not "stock".
