1989 Camaro RS 305 TBI died in freeway
the other day i was on the freeway and i was going about 65 when i suddenly decided to got faster to like 90 mph and then my car started messing up my check engine light came up and my car would not accelerate the rpms dropped from the top to 0 really slow it was weird then it seemed like my car was choking then it turned off in the middle of the fwy i managed to move it to the side and then i looked at the catalytic converter and it was red i taught it was clooged so i took it to a shop and they told me it was not that that it looked in good condition they told me that my car was either not passing enough fuel but i was like it does because my car smells like alot of gas when i turn it on so i dont know i wonder what it can be ima take it to the shop tommorrow so they can scan the computer. but any help is appreciated thanks.

by the sound of it, you have raw fuel going through the motor and into the exhaust. That is a sure fire way to cause the glowing cat. usually what happens is the injectors hang open for whatever reason, no matter what the throttle position.

Its been my experience when a car dies while moving like that its the ignition system. What setup are you running? Did it start back up after it died, or does it just crank and not start? Pull a plug wire off and throw an old plug on it and see if your getting fire.
