Reviving a 92 RS, new to the board..
Hey, I'm brand spanking new to the board, and to Camaros, honestly, but I've played around with cars quite a few times, so I *should* be able to get this one back to life..
Okay, the details: I have a 92 RS, Anniversary Edition, 305( I believe it's TBI, but that's just a guess right now, I really didn't take a close look. I didn't even check to see if the air filter is in there). It's been sitting for 4 years, and from what I can remember(a friend's parents owned it) it just stopped one day. The engine would crank, but not start. My friend tried to mess around with it, but he didn't know much about cars(still doesn't), and couldn't fix it. Not long after that, it suddenly stopped getting power to anything, radio, dash board, etc... We thought it was the battery, but swapping a brand new one didn't do anything to alleviate the problem. That's the last thing that was done to it for 4 years. Today, they call me up and say that I can have it if I can get it running, since my car pooped out on me, and I'm currently borrowing their truck to get around...
So... I took the battery out and had it tested, and it's bad now(surprise!), but putting new battery in didn't give me any juice in the car. I checked the fuse box under the dash, and there was only one blown fuse for the gauges(7.5A, correct?). I'm going to check the ground(is there more than one?), and that's about all I can think of until I get a manual and see if there's another fusebox, and where everything else might be located.. Got any suggestions on what else might interrupt the electricity?
Oh, and if I DO get it running, anyone want a slightly used Honda(...lol)? No, seriously, thanks in advance for any advice!

I had something like that happen and it turned out to be a simple fix.My positive battery cable was all meessed up on the inside just by looking at it you couldn't tell until I cut a piece off to connect a new terminal then I saw how bad it was.I don't know if this is your problem, but it wouldn't hurt to check it,then you can go from there.

Thank you! I'll check it out tomorrow. I would have never thought to check the inside of the cable, lol.

check the connections on the starter, if they aren't tight or not in good condition you won't get power to anything- headlights, etc.

Well, interesting story... You're completely right, by the way, no power to the starter, no power anywhere... Anyway, I did some diddling around and found a fuseable link that was supposed to have three wires on it. It only had two. So, after jumping the wires, I've found that I can now get power (next on to do list: get fuseable link). Seems that a rodent crawled up there and chewed through a bunch of stuff. Awesome. Just freeking awesome. So, anyway, now I just get a clicking when I try to turn it over, so I'm gonna try to charge the hell out of the battery, and hope that nothing is froze up. Anyone know a good trick for getting a little lubricant into the chambers? And any tips for changing the two spark plugs, driver side closest to the firewall? The passenger side plugs just killed my arm.
