Can't get nut on Starter off, help?
Can't get nut on Starter off, help?
I have a 92 rs with a 305, and one of the nuts that holds on an electrical connection to the starter won't come off. It turns, but so do the threads that it's on. I'm not positive(I can barely see the nut, let alone the connector that it's holding onto the starter), but I think it''s running to the battery, and there may be another wire attatched to it. Ironically, if I had the starter out, I'd know which wire it was.
I have almost no room to work with it, so short of cutting the connection off, is there anything I can do to get the wire off the starter?

I believe there's another nut on the other side of the connection (can't remember) which you might be able to get a slimline wrench on to give yourself something to torque against as you try to turn the outer nut to get the wire off.
