***engine starved for fuel past 3000rpm - I need some help***
The stock TPI L98 in my camaro is not working well. When I try to accelerate hard the engine just lingers around 3000rpm and will not rev like it should. Some times, if I keep my foot down, the motor will rev a little higher, but very erratically.
I am quite certain that there is a fuel deliver problem but I do not know what. I changed the fuel filter in hopes of a cheap fix, however as I expected the problem persists.
I would greatly appreciate any suggestions of possible problems and tips on how to easily check if they are the cause. I am guessing fuel pump or maybe a sensor, but would love some help. Thanks.

First of all, check your fuel pressure, check it on idle with and without vacuum connected and see what pressure you have, then check your pressure at ~2000rpm (with vacuum connected).. That will tell you if you got some pressure problem..
Next step is to ohm measure the injectors. they shall have ~14.7ohm (may be different but they shall be around that, and close to each others value. post the values here too and I will check it out) if it turn out ok, we almost can say its ok (they still can be hanged open ...)
Hows your rotor and distributor cap ? sparkplugs, how do they look, golden/brown. är white / black ?
as said, check your fuel pressure.. gauge can be bought here : http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Thank you for taking the time to offer some help, I appreciate the clarity and detail in your response.
I probably will not have time to work with the car until Saturday, but I will check out the fuel pressure and see what I get.

I would go with Theking's suggestion first, but maybe the catalytic converter is clogged up also... Those kind of problems can range from fuel, sprark, exhaust, vacuum or any myriad of electrical problems. Check the things that are cheapest to fix first.

Well the timing, fuel pressure and injectors all check out good. I also checked the TPS which I am going to recheck now that I known what voltages I should be getting. Anyways I suspect the TPS is fine and I doubt my catalytic convert is the problem because it is a fairly new 3” Random Tech. Anymore ideas?
The car drove a little different tonight, but the bottom line is the car still does not want to rev through the higher RPMs and deliver power. I am thinking sensor or vacuum leak but I am unsure what to check next.
