is there any way i can find out the length of the pushrods i need with out buying a adjusabel one Becasue im just using vortec heads on a 350 with 1.5 roller rockers.

 

Stock pusrods should be the right length. It should be 7.2" if you have a stock roller, or 7.8" for a flat tappet. When assembled the center of the roller tip should be just barely past the center of the pushrod. Just don't forget to use guide plates and hardened pushrods. I made the mistake of using regular pushrods with plates, they don't last long.

 

The roller tip should actually be just a little past halfway of the valve tip. And you need to checke the sweeping pattern of it also. Stock ones will probably work, but will not be neccesarily right. I would mock up with the stockers and see what you need.

 

what diamiter do i use 3/8'' or 5/16'' ?

 

5/16, you can get those hardened pushrods from comp for like $30

I just bought a pushrod length checker, it cost me a grand total of $12 here in canada, and was on the shelf ready to go. I highly recommend you do the same.

I ended up getting 7.870" Ford 351C pushrods for my 350. Who would have thought right?

Also, buy 1 piece pushrods. I didn't know any better and broke the tips off of 2 pushrods at the track 2 different times out
