Speedo And Odo Not Working!

1992 Tbi Rs T-5. Speedo and odo died. Cruise control works. Pulled Speedo unit but cant access gears to see if broken (made that way). It is electronic speedo. How to diagnios this? Can this stock unit be upgraded to higher mph w/ out ecm chip work? any help thanks.

you might get a better response in the electronics forum.

The odo probably isn't working because the speedo isn't working. Since your cruise control still works than it most likely isn't the VSS it is more than likely the speedo itself, which means that you'll have to swap out the whole cluster(sucks) since it is all one unit.

I believe that you can swap out a cluster for 90-92 as long as it is v8-v8 or v6-v6, don't quote me on that I don't have any experience with the 90-92 clusters.
