Hi all,
I have an 89 305tbi camaro and this light is on an constantly blinks rapidly. At first it would come on then go off after a couple minutes, now it just stays on. Everytime it comes on my car idles around 2000 and lacks power, it also backfires when going into the second and third gear. I took it to get it timed to factory specs and they said it was too high to time!!! Its also overheating, upon turing off the car it diesels then throws antifreeze in the reservoir. Someone told me it was nornal but not bubbling hot antifreeze. Can anyone help me with this problem(s)?

I checked under the floor carpet and I found the ECC its unbolted but the connections are all snug. Im new at this car stuff I dont know if the ECC is the same as an ECM, but i'll bolt it back on and see if there is a change. I took care of the squeal, turned out to be the ac compressor bearings.

 

I did what the guy Ward said he did. I checked for a bad connection, it seemed to be fine. Then I thought maybe something burned up so I took out the little chip to check it, it was fine I put it back in. Then checked the bigger chip it was the same, but this time when I put that chip in an turned the key the light didnt blink. I think its fixed, but since I took the chips out did it or would it of reset anything or erased?
