I have a 91 Firebird Formula 305 TPI, I have had it for about a month and the cars been going crazy. It all started when my car wouldn't start after it warmed up I'd turned it off and try to re-start it and nothing. So I adjusted the timing and that fixed the starting problem. It ran good for about a day and after that every time i tried to get on it, it would act like it wasn't getting enough fuel or air, it wouldn't die just not move at all but when you let off the gas it would speed up. So I changed the coil thinking it was something to do with spark and it ran good for a day then did the same thing. So then replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump and yet again ran for a day and after that back to being crap. Also now my car will barely start and when i do get it started it goes to 700 rpm and go down till it dies please help me!

 

Change the ignition module in the distributor. It's cheap.
