help with 305 performance heads

i have a 305 bored .030 over . has some top end gear. holley street dominator intake mani. 600 cfm edel. carb. hei distributor.

i want to know what kind of performace heads i would be able to buy that will improve the engines performance.

i was scared by some one... i was told that some 350 heads might be too big for a 305... so now im kinda confused.
sorry im a honda guy but im trying to learn the domestic side because i like the import and domestics.

by the way i forgot to mention that i dont want to replace my intake manifold.
so i would need heads that accept my current intake manifold.
i have center bolt valvecovers

Re: help with 305 performance heads

Trick Flow is about the only company that makes a performance head specifically for 305s that I'm aware of, but they are only offered in angle plug configuration:

They have versions with the same intake bolt pattern your current centerbolt heads have (87-95 bolt pattern) so you could keep using your existing intake.

World Products also offers a 305-specific head but it's really a stock replacement, not a high performance head, and it's only available in cast iron.

thats my real question. can i interchanged 350 performance heads for stock 305 heads without running into any type of clearance issues?

Typically, 350 heads will have too large of a combustion chamber for a 305. Thus the compression would be too low.

You need to use heads that have ~58cc combustion chambers.
