I have an 86 iroc 305 lb9. No matter how much i tighten the belt for the heater and the a/c it squeaks when i turn it on wen i step on the gas or when i rev the engine. And its the second new belt. Does anyone know the problem i would appreciate it thank you.

Is this car a v-belt or serpentine setup? I'm guessing v-belts?
What all is driven by this belt? Is one of the things a bit tight? ie. remove belt, do they all spin easily?
Try removing the belt, and grabbing some 180g sandpaper, and roughing up the area where the belt sits in the v-belt groove. That will help it hold well.

But i'm guessing one of the accessories is starting to die (seize).

 

yea and also check to make sure all the bolts are in. on mine i forgot one of the alternator/ps pump bracket bolts so it was getting pulled causing the side of the belt to squeak on the side of the pully. so check that maybe

 

i was looking and saw that i am missing a bolt from my air pollution underneath my alternator thanks for the help i just need to find a bolt that will match up with that. Since i bout the car used its been doing that thanks

 

ok good glad i could help. that just happened to me but my bracket broke(as would yours eventualy) and its 101$$$ for a new brackit.
