EGR Valve location

So im just wondering where on my 305 TBI is my egv valve so i can unplug it. I need to pull my TBI unit and clean it out but I got a check engine code tge other day and the scanner told me it was my EGR valve and told me not to drive it. I get crap gas mileage, so could that be why? I was told to unplug it and my engine will run better without it. Could you show me pics of where it is located or tell me so i can fix this problem.

Re: EGR Valve location

Remove the air cleaner assembly. On the passenger side of the engine, right behind the throttle body is the egr valve. Looks like a mushroom. Disconnect the vacuum line, remove the two bolts and take the old unit with you to the nearest auto parts store. They'll help you with a replacement. Read the new directions closely, match the shim (per instructions). Replace the egr unit. Easy project.

Good luck
