just checking - 350 with 5 speed - starter
Just cranked my TPI 350. I used the 5 speed that was behind the 305.
I am getting a little grinding at the starter when I first hit the key.
Will the starter for the 305 5 speed work on the 350 (yes it does bolt on)? Do I need to modify anything other than possibly shims?
flywheel was same tooth count and size as flexplate. 700r4 starter doesn't fit the 5 speed bellhousing. Had to use the smaller starter from the 5 speed.
This seems to be the only problem and troubleshooting so far with the swap.

as long as you are using all 153 tooth stuff you shouldnt have any problem with compatability you just need to play with some shims

I would try some putting shims in. if it bolts up and turns the motor it should work.
