no oil to lifters...

well after my problem of no oil to the rockers i took off my manifold found my push rods to be clean and my lifters not to be getting any oil. i took out my lifters and tried shooting compressed air into the oil passage near the water pump this also didn't work(assuming somethings clogged) what else can i do and where are the other oil passages that i can reach while the motor is in.

Was the distributor out when you tried the compressed air thing? You won't get any oil to the valve train with the distributor out. How is your oil pressure? Did it run and you didn't get oil to the rockers?

What leads you to believe the lifters aren't getting oil?

Re: no oil to lifters...

well, i forgot to mention did in another post and should have, i had the motor running a couple days ago, it has mechanical rollers and was running fine accept for the fact of no oil, figured push rods or lifters so i removed the intake manifold primed the motor with the drill, and noticed nothing coming out of th lifters so i took them out, and after all this still no oil getting to where the lifters should be. i figure a clogged oil passage? if not no idea, does the oil go through head gasket at all where maybe they sent the wrong one 2 me?

Primed it with a drill using what? If it was just a long rod, you'll never get oil pressure to the valve train.

Re: no oil to lifters...

primed it using an oil pump primer, my oil gauge reads 25 psi with the drill and read 60 when the motor was idling b4 i tore it back apart.

Did it have a full body like a distributor? There are two types.

You won't get oil to the valve train with that. If you look down the hole while it's spinning, you'll see where all your pressure is going. You need one like this: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...6&autoview=sku
