aftermarket dizzy.
check around your timing chain cover (right behind the water pump) and find the timing tab.
base timing is beleive is 0 degrees at idle if i remember correctly
you might have installed the distributor wrong if you JUST installed the new dizzy and you are having problems with it now.
check your wires and make sure they are seated correctly (could be a misfire).
might be running lean to the point where the car is not getting enough fuel...
you could have an intake leak...
we need to know WHEN this statred happening.
did you just install the dizzy.
did you just install the carb?
what was the last thing you did to your car .

Zero degrees is the base timing for the computer controlled system.
Non-computer distributor typically is 8-12 degrees BTDC with the vacuum advance disconnected.

The base engine for 85-87 IROC's and Z28's is the LG4. The L69 and the TPI are the optional upgrade engines. From 88-89, the TBI is the standard engine for IROC's, and the TPI is the upgrade. From 90-92, TPI is the standard engine. Now you know.
