1986 Yellow Z28 Camaro - Help Please!

I just bought a 1986 Z28 Yellow Camaro , She is a beauty but so far I have 3 main things I really would like to get fixed asap but I was curious if anyone might know the problem so the mechanic doesn't try and rape me .

First Problem - She starts up fine and used to be sort of fine I guess and I'd drive it but now I am too scared too . Due to the fact when I start it , it starts to chug and goes between 2rpms and 5pms and sometimes it will get up to 10-15 and sound how its supposed to sound but just die and come back and die and then completely die . (Main Problem need help please!)

Second Problem - My speedometer fiddles , for instance when I am driving and I am at 30mph it will bounce between 30mph and about 35ishmph and its even worse when I am at 80mph it will jump from 80mph to 90mph . I am curious as to how much this would cost to fix ?

Third Problem - When I pull it out of Park and go from Reverse it will jerk a little bit and then go to Drive it will jerk again . ( The back brakes do need to be done and front brakes are new could the back brakes be the problem ? and how much would the back brakes be ? )

Answers - If you can please give me your feedback It would be much appreciated .

Sincerely - Joshua

Re: 1986 Yellow Z28 Camaro - Help Please!

first take it to a mechanic save yourself alot of time and frustration and let them quote you a price.

could be just a simple tune up is all it needs but let a mechanic figure it out unless you really want to spend the time and money to figure it out on your own not sure what could be your direct problem but a tune up might be your very best bet

get brakes done

the speedometer and shifting part all lead to a transmission issue i would think maybe the cables need alittle adjsutment

doesnt sound too bad
