Anyone sucessfuly mounted ign. coil inside cab?

In my quest for the cleanest looking engine bay, Ive been wanting to mount my Blaster II coil inside the cab somewhere. Ive seen grommets with male contacts to run the coil wire through the firewall, but I just got to looking and it looks like the heater box/ducting might be in the way. I wanted to mount it directly behind the distributor on the inside, but it doesnt look like I will be able to do so. Ive already got my MegaSquirt and 6A box mounted inside, if would be sweet if I could get the coil mounted in there as well.

Just for S&G, here's a pic of how I mouted the 6A box. Im going to have to modify the passenger side ducting though, but nothing major. The Megasquirt is mounted on the passenger side kick panel.

bumps are annoying. Give users time to read the posts. If nobody knows the answer, they won't respond.

I have my ignition and coil mounted inside the car. I use a feed through connector like this for the coil wire.

I rarely use bumps. Only times I usually use them is when it's been a few days, plus if it's in the tech forum topics can get buried real quick. I get ya though

Where at inside did you mount yours at? I know you've got a full out race car, didnt know if you;ve still got the factory HVAC setup and all the ducting.

No HVAC stuff at all. I have clear access to anywhere on the firewall. I use a MSD HVC II coil mounted right on the backside of the firewall. It's roughly directly behind the passenger side head.

For a car with full interior, it's common to make a mounting plate and mount it on or near the floor on the passenger side. With third gen and the center console, make a mounting plate and attach it to the passenger side front of the console.

I always heard you do not want your coil wire to be any longer than 18". You may want to varify that with MSD and keep it in mind when mounting.

I have mine mounted inside as well. I've modified a 4th gen dash, albeit it's got a gabillion holes in it for the cage and whatnot. But my ign. sits where the pass. air bag used to be.

For coil wires, you use a firewall feed-through:
