Vortec heads on a 10243880 Block

I recently had a engine shop build and shoert block for me for my 92 camaro. I supplied the block and they said they had a good set of heads. This engine is .030 with 9.0-1 flat top pistons. The cam selection I went with for the street was CS1013R. Now I have the engine back I found they used a set of junk 193 casting heads and I have already purchased the performance intake for the Vortec heads. I will be running a 650cfm Edlebrock carb and 65,000 volt HEI ignition. What set of Vortec heads are the best? Has anyone tried the heads I have linked below?http://www.jegs.com/p/GM+Performance...10002/-1/10187

Hope you're back at their door demanding some money back.

Vortec heads will work fine on the block.

I wouldn't use that cam - much better stuff is available. Ditto the carb.

sdparts.com has upgraded Vortec head kits that allow for more lift than stock, have better valve springs than stock. You already have the intake, but the kit comes with everything needed to mount the heads on the block - gaskets, bolts, rockers, intake, heads - for less than you'd pay anywhere for the parts separately. Might make sense to get the kit and sell the intake.

If you don't get the Vortecs, the Fast Burns are really great heads. But, takes more cam and intake to get the most out of them.

I paid 750 for the complete rebuild and picked it up as a short block, since money is starting to become an issue. What would recommend for a good cam profile? Looking for close to the 400hp mark. I will check the site you gave me thank you much

Comp XR27x-ish cam (not sure the exact number), upgraded Vortec heads, Performer RPM Vortec intake - 400 HP at the crank a walk in the park.
