world products s/r cast iron heads
I am going to buy a set of world products s/r cast iron heads part number 042750-1. I was wondering if there was anybody out there who has installed these heads and could give me any tips and things to watch out for when installing them. thanks.

Yep. See sig.
The ports are pretty ugly under the valves. I wouldn't install them without cleaning that up. I've seen some magazine articles about them in the past, every one of them did that bowl work before they installed them.
If you want to use your centerbolt valve covers on them, you need to grind down the perimeter bolt bosses.

I have them. The bowls do need some smoothing, remove the valves and you'll see a machining ridge that needs some work.
The exhaust ports need to be ported, leave the intakes alone or do little to them.
The umbrella valve seals and springs are junk, replace them before install.
These heads, w/cam, and full exhaust will give you I'd guess a 50HP gain!
Oh, and I did not have to grind down the bosses in order to use my perimeter valve covers. They came ready to use.

Any other issues I've read that sometimes temp sensors are the wrong size and exaust bolts don't fit.

You'll need an adapter for the water temp fittings (I forget the size - I just went and got what fit from the hardware store).
You won't have any problem with exhaust bolt holes with headers. You won't realize much gain, if any, installing the heads without headers. Heads, cam, headers would be a worthwhile pursuit.
