I like how he romps the throttle and it moves the camera.
You probably need to advance the timing on it. It will need to be much earlier timing than stock.

whats the idle timing set to? i wish i could get my car to idle smoothly at 800 but i think its not gonna happen. It needs 900 but i havent finished the tune. I got like 26 degrees at idle

That's what I was hinting at. The best timing depends on the cam and the DCR.
Stock timing is like 6° base and 36° all in at 2500.
That cam will probably like something around 18° base and 38° all in at 3000.
(that is, unless you like the "about-to-die" exhaust sound)
Orr89, is your cam bigger than a 280?

its 286/306 advertised.. 230/245 at .050". i have run 23 degrees and it idled on it but was searchin alot so i bumped it up and it liked it abit better. I have other issues causing the searching so if i figure all that out, i'll go play with timing

Yea, that one isn't going to want to play nice. Mine is only 224@.050 but has a 108° LSA. It likes 24° at a 800 idle, you just can't turn the A/C on unless it is set to 900.

Re: sound chip of the new motor and xe274

I have almost exactly the same combo as you do (200cc World heads, and different headers though) and mine seems very happy with about 16* mechanical at idle, and it idles even better with the vacuum advance hooked up as well (its in the 20's with it hooked up).

Don't you just hate it when it dumps all that powdered metal in the engine ? Hopefully he broke it in right. At least he didn't start off with 1.6 rockers...

If it's a flat tappet and you coated it with plenty of jiz, dump the oil & filter after running it a couple of hours, before heading to the track.
I know, I'm just stating the obvious...

Re: sound chip of the new motor and xe274

problem with flat tappets is that modern oils are featuring less and less zinc and phosphorous i believe which help lubricate parts better. Since most cars are now rollers or overhead cam setups with roller parts, they can get away with less zince and such.

now is the time to convert to rollers.
