I'm not sure if this is the right thread, but here goes... I am having a little trouble finding a new vapor check valve for my cars. (MY 86 IROC and my 90 rs both need one!) This is the white plastic valve that clips to the drivers side frame rail above the axle. It has a vapor line (Rubber hose.) that goes to the fuel tank. Without it the car wont pass a fuel tank pressure test. (Required in AZ as part of the emissions test.) I have looked everywhere I can think of and have been told it is discontinued, (The chevy dealers.) Ihave been given dumb looks, (Checker, Autozone, Carquest,NAPA, etc.) I took my old one off and filled it with hot glue to get through emissions but this is a temporary fix.... Anybody know where I can find one? Part #?

I think you're going to need to find a good used one. It shouldn't be hard as they were on most FI late 80's GM cars.

 

I have 2 used ones from a junkyard. Both bad. The high heat, combined with the low humidity kills the seal inside them!! Just dries them out. There has to be a new replacement somewhere......Dosent there?

I went to gmpartsdirect and tried the number. No picture!! I sent them a message asking for confirmation that this was in fact the vapor check valve, so we'll see... It seems to be almost triple the price of the old, discontinued part that my local gm dealers were telling me about. I dont care about the price, I just want the right part!!
