where to buy a fuel tank sending unit??

I have a 1987 Iroc that needs a new sending unit. I went to napa and they can not get one for the car. classic industries wants 658.00 for it and paddocks wants 597.00 for it. Anywhere else to try?....

Re: where to buy a fuel tank sending unit??

if you have a local mom & pops style auto parts supplier..i get either an Airtex or Denso one...both are pretty reliable. I know i kinda need a sending unit myself but i end up buying a pump only a few years ago...if i was smart enough i would of bought the whole assembly unit with strainer. (and no they ain't cheap)....Whenever you replace fuel pump sending unti assemblies they're always gonna be expensive...regardless where you buy it from...

Wow!! Expensive!! Autozone has the sending unit (Fuel level sender included) For something like 150.oo Checker (Schucks, Kragen) Should have it for around the same price. If you have any trouble finding it pm me and I will get you a part #. Good luck!!

Re: where to buy a fuel tank sending unit??

I replaced mine with the one from autozone and everything plugged right in. No problems. If you like I can probably get you a part number... Never even knew there was more than one sender assy..... I also used a walbro pump with mine so I had to cut the harness in the tank....
