I'm going to be purchasing a project car to work on in my spare time, I've nailed it down to getting a 3rd gen camaro...preferably 90-92 as their newer. I want a Manual tranny, so I'm looking at the 305's. As a first time kid working on a camaro, is it better to get the 305 TBI RS or the 305 TPI Z28's from a modding standpoint?

 

Depends, does your state do smog checks? Other cars on this forum have modded their cars and passed the smog test. myself I would choose the TPI.

 

im sure everyone will agree on the tpi z28 they make more power than a tbi and if i had the choice id want a z28 over an rs nothing wrong with them just preference

 

It will be Registered in Maine. They do do emissions testing, but i'm going to be pushing the limit of that fairly quickly I'm guessing or see if my friend Mr. Franklin can do the test for me

 

Get a z-28 with TPI.
Much better platform.
