14101083 vs 14014416 heads

i was runnin the 416's heads on my camaro which has a 5.7 block, yesterday ive got a blown head gasket and i was going to rebuild my heads but found a set of 083's for 100 dollars ready to install. would those heads give me more power? would i be better off rebuilding the 416? 416's are 305 heads and have smaller chamber size.. my car has stock internals, just exhaust, 3.73, built tranny and a few other minor mods. thanks for the help

Are your pistons dished? It seems that a 58cc combustion chamber and flattop pistons would cause really high compression and predetonation issues.
If you don't end up using the 083's let me know I've been looking for a set. In my opinion, the 083 would lower your compression, but would be a more reliable option. You probably would lose a little power unless your 416's have smaller intake valves, in which case it would be about a wash or just a slight loss in power.
what do you plan to do to the 416s when you rebuild?
