Alright.. I have a 305 v8 5.0 engine in my z28 and the Left valve cover is almost impossible to get out.. That gold circle thing is like hovering over it and i cant even get my tools to the screws of the gold bell.. Anyone have any similar experience to this? and what tools did you use to get that bell looking thing out of the way and how did you do it? The valve cover is loose and ready to come out but its just that 1 thing thats jamming it in place.

 

2 large adjustable wrenches(cresent).

 

Ive tried about 3 different vice grips and i couldnt get a grip on either of the screws.. This is ticking me off now because ive been trying to do this all day when it should take an hour at most.

 

holy crap.. I got the cover off.. Finally!!!!!

It took 5+ hours just to get the damn valve covers off.. Itll probably be another 5 to get them back on. lol.
