Carb On - Still Won't start

I just put on my third Qjet electronic carb. I was told the first were dumping gas. Car would run for a few days then won't start.

I switch carbs but still seems as if there is no spark. Car had recent tune up just prior to this problem.

Gas is only getting up to the fuel filter but nothing in the bowl.

Any ideas? Is something plugged. Oh and if I put gas in the carb still no start. Car just turns but no fire.

No I have not. I thought I should get gas in the carb first. What should I do first? How do I get the spark? Right now I have no backfire or anything.

Re: Carb On - Still Won't start

The only way your car will get gas to the carb is to have the mechanical fuel pump operating. It will only work by energizing the starter to turn the flywheel/flexplate or the engine is fired up. I suspect something happened during the tune up. Check for spark as Apeiron stated.

Thanks. Where should I check for spark from first?

Re: Carb On - Still Won't start

I am wondering if I might have a timing chain problem?

Not especially likely, but possible.

Re: Carb On - Still Won't start

I could only pour gas through carb. Gas gets to the fuel filter. Manual fuel pump I believe. I was able to get the car to run briefly until any gas in carb ran out. The distributer seemed out of line. And that got me to thinking if the timing chain teeth are gone. Somene installed this engine and I thought they changed it but maybe not.
