car stalled and won't start again, whats the deal with that?

Hey so here is the problem, i turned off the highway, as i turned the car stalled, i coasted to a stop. i put the car in park and tried to start it again, and nothing. i turn the key i don't hear the fuel pump charging up, i turn the key and there is not a sound, no beeping, no lights on the dash, no attempt to turn the engine over. I thought it migh be the battery but the interior light is still on, and strangely enough the headlights turn on, but they don't flip up. I checked the fuses, they all looked good. So i have ruled out the battery and the fuses, where do i go from there? Any help would be great!

most likely your alternator died, the battery might have some charge its just not enough to crank the motor. have the alternator checked at autozone

I was thinking it might be the altenator, thanks for the help. Any other possible causes? Just like to know what i might be getting myself in to, i just replaced the transmission, so the "fix the car fund" is a little low these days.
