How can I attach braided lines to hardlines?
How can I safely attach steel braided fuel line to my metal hardlines? Basically what I need to do is cut my factory fuel lines back about a foot due to rust and I'd like to attach steel braided lines for the feed, return, and vapor line. Can this be accomplished with -an fittings? What size fuel line will I need and what fittings will I need? Any other ideas? All suggestions or solutions welcomed.. not really sure how to go about this..

Buy yourself a 37* AN flaring kit. Summit has it for $40 or so. You can do that. Or there's probably a swagelok that'll do it too.

A tube nut and sleeve, preferrably before you flare.

Yea, they're deceptively hard to stretch over a flare...
swagelok is a company. They make flareless tube fittings. That way you don't have to buy the flaring tool. You would just get one with an AN male/female end on it, depending on what you want.

Sonix,
where can I find more info swagelok?
This sounds like a good solution for converting all of my brake lines to an fittings.
Will this product hold up to brake line pressures?
I am frequently swapping master cylinders and pulling rear calibers to swap rotors and axles.
I have had to replace or cut and reflare the standard type hardware or use inverted flare to an adapters and use the adapters as disposable items when swapping master cylinders.
the car is for road racing and uses two master cylinders and a balance bar. I am always experimenting with and improving my brakes and will swap rear end ratios for different tracks.
Thanks

the other thing you "could" do, is get yourself a nipple to -6an male fitting (or whatever size fitting you need). that would allow you to use a hose from your current flaired fitting to the nipple, with the backside of the nipple being a -6an or so.. Run your hose to the nipple and the braided hose to the -6an fitting. Then you'll need a -6an female to hose. On the other side youll need a hose fitting to -6an female. Then you'll need a carb fitting to -6an male (assuming you have a carb. That's what I did and it made things alot easier. I just hope it makes some sense to you.
