Re: Motors

why are you sold on using a 327? same ammount of work to put in a 350 or any other small block chevy...and you are going to have to modify the fuel system regardless of what u have now so its up to you wether u want a fuel injected or carbed v8. and u wont find a stock fuel injected tradtional 327...

Re: Motors

i would definitely go 350. there are blocks everywhere cheap ($50-$100), tons of aftermarket shortblocks, longblocks for really cheap if you arent looking for crazy power.

Re: Motors

your other post says u are makeing a clone so in that case u should go for an L98 TPI 350....for a true IROC CLONE. id say just get a good carbed 350 though and have fun

Re: Motors

the rear dont matter the v8 rears are the same strength wise...1500 bucks will not get a good v8 swap acomplished....my exhaust carb and intake alone cost 1500 bucks...

Re: Motors

1500 will get you a tease u can get a good lt1 complete for about that much money but then u have all the other stuff to buy....u might want to sell your v6 camaro buy a v8 camaro and use that 1500 to mod the v8 cause it costs alot more to do a decent swap...

Re: Motors

just drive it till it blows and be saving up for the swap....pick out a good motor i recomend a new one not used, and swap but things add up quick...here is an example i bought my 1989 IROC last spring for 2k not running. My motor is a $1800 gm crate motor, the intake was 200 bucks the carb $350, the fuel pressure reg. another $100, complete exhaust kit $900 distrib. $50 and then all the other lil things to make it all work together...it get real expensive real fast for a basic swap...
----------
where are you at i have a good l98 motor for sale...

Re: Motors

i think ud be better off just using ur money to fix your v6..cause now im gonna sound like a total *** but your going to half *** the car and further the reputation of the third gen camaro as a pos white trash ******* car....a trend that most people here are tying to so hard to get away from...id be willing to bet that your v6 will be faster then any v8 swap u do with 1500 bucks...
