LT1 Heads on a 1989 305
I am planning on getting a vortech holley stealth ram. I need to get vortech style heads and I was looking at these.

Will these fit on my 305 motor with out any problems. Will the valves touch the cylinder walls? Will the cooling system work normally (LT1's are reverse flow)? how bout the EGR system? I would appreciated any help.

LT1 HEADS ARE FOR LT1S ONLY...Search...they will not work withought alot of machining to the coolant passages....just spend your money on some other heads....

I was also looking at pro comp heads which use the vortec manifold. There are better heads on the market for vortec manifolds than non vortec.

I like the idea of using 54cc heads on a 305. If I put the 64cc heads on my motor as is, I will lose horsepower.

Same thing on a "standard" SBC head: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
If you want 54cc heads, shave what you have/get down to that.
Making things more complicated than necessary usually ends up in wasted money and disappointment.
