305 heads on 350?

i have a stck 305 from an 86 z28 and i am wondering if it would be a good idea to port the heads off of it and put them on my 350 , basically in order to raise compression. my 350 is a stock 350 out of a 79 camaro z28. also is there anything else you can share with me about doing that, like the differences betweeen the heads and stuff

the exact casting numbers would be helpful. here is a good site for assistance with that: http://www.mortec.com/castnum.htm

Yep, it's a great idea.
You probably have 416 heads off your 86Z, and they would wake up the old 350 nicely - with some port work.

That's what i've done...
