Engine Lope at Idle

Hey guys--
I just bought a 91 z28 Camaro with 5.7 engine. At first, engine ran and sounded great, but now, when I stop and the car is at idle it lopes (or jumps back and forth) from 600 rpms to 500 rpms, almost like it wants to stall (the car has stalled a couple times but it's rare). Someone please help as I don't want to pay someone $200 to find out what the problem is and then more $ to fix. Thanks.

welcome aboard.

this thread here would be a good place to start... relating to the IAC and TPS.

https://www.thirdgen.org/tpimod2

it is out of the tech article section. if you are new to thirdgens, i suggest reading some more articles there as well, to increase your knowledge base.

Re: Engine Lope at Idle

Hey Impaled...so I went to go see if there was anything disconnected that might be causing the idle problem, and I noticed that the ALDL with the A and B pins was not connected to anything. Is the ALDL supposed to be connected to something or is it used for testing purposes only? If the ALDL is supposed to connect to something, please tell me where. By the way, what does ALDL stand for? Thanks.
