combo cooler eng/trans heat transfer?
i have a derale combo cooler for engine and trans oil. core measures 12x17. 6 pass for the engine oil and 4 pass for the transmission. right now i only have the transmission hooked up to it and my trans temp gauge never goes above 170 degrees in 100 degree weather and that is with a 2600 stall.
now i know that engine oil temp runs in the 250 degree and up area, so my question is, would there be a lot of heat transfer from the engine oil to the trans oil because of them being on the same unit, i don't want my trans temp to be warmed up to 250 degrees.
