89 camaro needs horsepower

I have an 89 camaro Rs with an original 305, Im looking for some ways inwhich to add more horsepower, torque into my car for minimal prices.
I was thinking of switching to a 350 but I just dont have the time to change all of the necessary items to do so, So my question is are there any ways I could add more power to my car within a days work or for a minimal price?

A set of headers and a nice exhaust behind them will be a great improvement.

headers and exhaust... any suggestions on what would be a bit better than the other?

A cat-back exhaust kit would be easier and cheaper than headers. If you do go for headers, at that point you have spend enough money and done enough work, you may as well do the cat-back exhaust too. If you only go for the cat-back, it would be a good idea to invest in a new cat too ... that stock cat from the late 80's is probably all used up and way more restrictive than new "high-flow" cats that are out there now.

But don't forget to do some basic tune-ups on your car before you do anything else ... oil change with a full synthetic, oil filter, fuel filter, high quality air filter like a K&N, new spark plugs and wires. That will get your engine running the way it needs to in the first place. Then you will get full benefits from any modifications you do from there.
