No-Spark problem is wrecking my love life
I have an '89 Firebird Formula with a 305 TBI and a T5.
I have been having an intermitent no-spark condition that is really getting to me. The car will start normally for days, but then at the most inoportune times it will not start. I will check for spark with a spark tester and there wont be any spark. I'll begin checking the coil for proper resistance values and other such tests, and everything will check out normally, but I still won't have a spark. Then what usually happens is I'll try to start the car one last time just for the hell of it, and it will start right up like nothing happened!
When this happens, I will turn the car off and try to start it again, and it will crank right up every time! It won't give me any problems starting for a couple of days, then it will not start again.
I 've had it up to my eyballs though, because last night I was out with some friends shooting pool, and this girl I was talking to invited me back to her place to "watch some movies"...But my goddam car wouldn't start, so while I checked in vain for a problem, she got tired of waiting and left!
And wouldn't you know it, just as I was putting everything back on the engine, I tried the key one more time and it started right up.
These are the parts I have replaced thus far:
Spark plugs (I used AC Delco)
Distributor cap
Rotor
Ignition coil (Remote mounted, Borg Warner)
Ignition pickup coil
Ignition module
The ignition wires are Accel 8.8 mm spiral core wires that I took off of my wrecked camaro with the same drivetrain setup.
Can you guys help me out?

sounds to me like you have little corrosion gremlins . i would go over all ign. connections with a small metal brush ( USMC toothbrush ) . then after clean , apply a light coat of dielectric grease with a small glue brush . being a ret. acft. mech. i have chased many corrosion gremlins over the years . i use permatex tune up grease #22058 . a 3oz. tube will last years . hope this helps . good luck .

You may want to check your ign wire on the distributor, It may be loose.
Thats the prob with my car anyway, cuz ii did a bunch of tests etc, and everything checked out.

what about the connectors for the small wire that go between the ign. module and the coil, and from coil to comp. and from ign. module to computer. check all those, ive had them things screw up as well
