ughhh is this another problem related to the fact that im using a quadrajunk??
i have a stock 305 in my 85 z wit an electric fuel pump and a stock quadrajet. my car wont start but it constantly cranks over even after depressing the gass pedal a few times. i changed the distributor cap with a new coil and still the same problem. i tried starting it with starting fluid and it started right up.for about 10 seconds. a couple of techs are saying its probably the module inside the distributor? could that be my problem? i need to kno asap becuase my car is parked in front of some random persons house and i dont want them to tow it. thanks for the help

More than likely that is your problem. My Bird did it to me a few months back. They get hot and fail when it is the worst time.Do you smell gas at the carb or can you see it being squirted into the carb? Simple stuff first then go for electronics. Let me know if you need help.

Why does it have an electric fuel pump on it? Are you saying a factory electric pump, or something that has been put on? Do you have fuel pressure? With the air cleaner off, holding the choke open, and opening the throttle do you see a squirt of fuel into each front barrel?
It's possible the carb is the problem, but even if it is, "quadrajunk" isn't warranted. Here you have the best street performance carb in the free world, and you're calling it names. For shame, for shame!
Find out if you're getting fuel to the carb. If you are, find out why it isn't getting through the carb.

My quadrajunk seems to work pretty good on my heavily modified 350 (cammed up too!).

check for the squirts of fuel that five seven mentioned. That's a dead giveaway if the carb is getting fuel or not. Then you can go from as to why...
