code 33 after car wash

i had my girlfriend take my car and wash it at the car wash and when she started it after she washed it it set off the check engine light and its a code 33,ive checked all connections and tried restarting the ecm about 4 times and each time after i restart the ecm it will start and die i have to feather the peddle a little to get it to idle then it seems fine but still kicks the ces light and its a code 33 every time, but throttle response is still great so it dont really feel like the maf is bad,has anyone ever had this problem?,could sucking up a little water thru the maf caused this?cause i do have a ram air setup on it,im really hoping i dont have to buy a maf,any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks, joe

Re: code 33 after car wash

i know this is an old post but i did a search and found it because my car is doing the exact same thing. went to the car wash and when I came out....service engine soon light was on. did your MAF power relay need to be replaced? or just dry out for a bit. I also checked my distributer and it had a few drops of water on the very back plug wire.

Re: code 33 after car wash

Code 33 - Mass air flow (MAF) sensor - signal voltage or frequency is high during engine idle.

- Maniflold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor - signal voltage is high during engine idle (Note: Engine misfire or unstable idle may cause this code).
