SBC Engine Stand Bolts
What size and thread pattern bolts do I need to put a small block chevy on a stand? Guide holes are 2" long on stand so about 1" more for length? I know I need at least grade 8,just need to know size and thread. Thanks

Re: SBC Engine Stand Bolts
I hold my BBC up with grade 5 bolts. You can lift an engine out of the car with an adapter which fits onto the intake in place of the carb and only held down with four 5/16" bolts.

Yea, just to hold stationary weight, you don't need grade 8.
I think i'm using 6" long spacer pipes (instead of the 2" tubes, this way the flywheel can be on there), and about 8" long all-thread rods...
