Re-torque bolts after initial heat cycles.

Re-torque bolts after initial heat cycles.

I know that you are supposed to re-torque bolts after the first few initial heat cycles and engine break-in, especially with aluminum heads. Do they expect you to pull the motor? How are you supposed to get to the head bolts with headers on?

I plan on doing the initial break in w/o the trans attached. Any arguments against this?

Depends on the head gaskets used - some have to be retorqued, like the steel-shim type, and some are NOT supposed to be retorqued, like the blue FelPro gaskets.

Which ones specifically did you use?
