Knock sensor thread pitch

Is the thread pitch for the knock sensor 1/2" - 20 NF? If not, does anyone know what thread pitch it is?
Thanks,
Tony

Re: Knock sensor thread pitch

It is a tapered pipe thread in 1/4 NPT. Some older blocks have the drains in 3/8" NPT and need a bushing to mount the knock sensor.

Re: Knock sensor thread pitch

This is an '86 LG block so 1\4 -18 NPT should be the threads?
