massive crankcase problem, HELP!
hey guys.
I had a mildly built 350 with a tpi setup a few weeks ago, since we all know the tpi systems are no good past 4.5k rpms i decided to modify a LT1 intake for it.
Heres my problem, after putting the lt1 manifold on the car, it went 4 tenths faster, BUT started smoking and burning oil.
My block is a stock bore 350block with like 100k miles with flat tops.
The actual setup has around 8-9k miles
My major problem is not the smoke that comes out of the exhaust over 3.5k rpms but instead the smoke that comes out of the valve cover,s i do not have a pcv system, i just have valve cover breather Filters on.
When i rev it up smokes come from the inside of the block out of the breathers, its blue smoke so its gotta be oil. The car does not overheat and runs fine.
My assumptions are that either the rings are really bad so its allowing the smoke to get to the crankcase ventilation OR i have a hole in one of my pistons
I will do a compression test this afternoon and post the results, also i will try to get a video of whats its doing to show you guys.
Please let me konw if you have ever experienced anything like this or if you have any idea what it could be. As stated above it all started after the new intake.
Thanks in advance

Re: massive crankcase problem, HELP!
Sounds like you removed your PCV system and installed breathers instead... huh, oh that is what you did.
Ok, so...?
Let us know what your compression test shows.
