Fuel Pump Location ???

I am sure my fuel pump is in the damn tank. If so I believe I have to drop the tank. I've read about cutting a hole above the tank to get to it with out droppin it. If this is possible what side is the pump on and if you have pics of this please post. Hopefully this will make my car quit stalling out then back firing. Thanks

Have you checked your fuel pressure? Have you replaced the fuel filter...this could also cause your problem. The pump is in the tank, yes, it is in the center top of the tank. I personally don't recommend cutting your floor open. I can drop my tank out in a couple hours....if I remember correctly. --Also to change the pump you only have to drop it down a little ways, so some things can be left connected.

Re: Fuel Pump Location ???

i will change the filter in the next day or so. I was just curious about the pump incase I do need to change it. Because I want it done by the end of the weekend and didnt want to wait on replys. The pressure always seems to be fine. I dont have this problem until I drive a mile or more.

Re: Fuel Pump Location ???

Ya, im not sure what you are gonna do but if you do replace the fuel pump, don't cut a hole in your floor. The guy that owned my car before me changed the fuel pump in 2.5 hours. (tear down, replace, put back up).
