Acceleration Problems

Hello, it's me again.

I've got a problem with my 5.0 TPI.

When I floor it, the engine idles. Interesting thing is, it only happens in drive and reverse gears. If I "put the petal to the metal" while in park or neutral, it roars like it's supposed to. When i take it out on the highway, I put the pedal down farther and farther, and as soon as I get about 3/4 of the way through the depth of the pedal, it just quits making power and chills at about 600 RPM.

Any ideas what might be wrong? I'm going to check the engine codes right now and see what they tell me.

Oh yeah, little update on the rides too - I sold my 1988 'bird to a friend of mine, it's his baby now , and I just got around to putting in a posi rear end in the Z.

Re: Acceleration Problems

Alright a little update. No codes flashed when I tested them. When I first got the car I went through and fixed numerous codes, so it doesn't suprise me that the ECM doesn't think anything is wrong. Then again, I suppose the bulb could be burned out...
